Animator is kind of a misnomer, because I animate, illustrate, compose, and play guitar. I think jack of all trades is a better fit but thats not an option, so i guess this will do :/

600 Subs on YouTube and Welcome New Followers

Posted by Frost070 - February 3rd, 2023

I understand this mostly applies to my Youtube channel, but I do see those of you who followed me here on NG and I'd like to address this here as well.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all you guys for helping the channel get to 600 subscribers and The Goblin’s Proposal to 50,000 views, it means the world to me. The warm reception and kind words in the comments have been amazing, and I am so grateful. To those of you who are new, welcome. To those of you who’ve been here for a while, thank you for sticking around, seriously.

I’d now like to take a minute to do some housekeeping and lay out my plan going forward with the channel.

I am pleased to announce that I have my next animation picked out, and I have been hard at work for the past week and a half developing art and design before going into storyboarding. It’s going to be another Oney Plays animation, however, in an effort to continue evolving and honing my craft, it’s going to be the last for a little while. I want to find other funny sources that I can adapt to animation, or, provided the juice is really there, begin creating original content. I still love the Oney Plays guys and this doesn't mean that I won’t adapt another bit of theirs to animation in the future, but I’d rather not have their work end up becoming a crutch for my own. I want to get better, and this is part of that way forward.

This is where I open the floor up to you guys. I’ve noticed a few of you guys have expressed how you’d like to see the channel and my work take off. Fortunately, there are a couple of ways you can help me in that regard. The first and easiest way is to continue sharing my work on Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Discord, etc. Good word of mouth is the best way to make sure that YouTube’s algorithm doesn’t bury my work, and I’m left fighting an uphill battle with them.

The other way for those of you who really care is to subscribe to my SubscribeStar page. It's currently $5 a month, and you’ll get access to my production art, storyboards, sneak peaks and early renderings of animations, and early access to finished shorts before they hit YouTube and elsewhere (I’m also on Rumble, Bitchute, and Newgrounds).

I’m open to suggestions on all fronts, so let me know what you guys prefer. I want to grow and expand my projects, and even if all 600 of you guys currently subbed that would be enough for me to be able to focus on this full time. Beyond just you guys' donations, I would be able to hire other artists, voice actors, original music, and so much more. Ideally, I’d like to take Eric July’s formula with his comic publishing company and emulate it for animation. Really give all those big name animation studios a real run for their money, wouldn’t that be something?

So there you have it, and there it is. I look forward to sharing this next animation with you guys soon. If you guys like Heavy Metal the movie, you’ll like this one. It’s gonna be real good.

Sincerely,

Sean
